Don't be afraid to look stupid on stage

If you don't, who will?

Reminiscing

So, on my tumblr, I went back in time and found this

amazing night
rehearsal went well, after that i just went home. then i went to the sal and got sweet new shoes.
when i got back i noticed kate had posted on my wall some questions (basically wanted to catch up), so we ended up talking for like 2 hours about everything, sleep was the reason for the end of the conversation. it was really nice to talk to her.
then ruthe sent me a text containing the nicest thing anyones ever said to me. i cried it made me so happy.
so basically this post was useless cuz i already posted about all of this except for the part about kate.

This reminded me of the comradeship involved in a close knit theatric production. I was so close to a person that they could openly admit that they cried, despite the social norms of the man to actually be insensitive and lack the emotional need for tears. The vulnerability and lack of inhibitions needed to perform well in the theatre setting has always shocked me because emotions are embraced "in the round" more so than any other field.
